The Missouri Task Force on the Prevention of Sexual Abuse of Children developed Protect Missouri Kids Child Abuse Training (https://protectmokids.com), a free, self-paced mandated reporter training. It takes two-hours to complete and has four sections:

1. Introduction and Legal Requirements of Mandated Reporters
2. Indicators of Child Abuse and Neglect
3. Plan for Responding to Suspicion, Discovery or Disclosure of Child Abuse and Neglect
4. Effectively Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect

The training has pre- and post-tests. While participants must earn a score of 80% or better on the post-test for successful completion, the test can be retaken to achieve this goal. Participants who score 80% or greater on the post-test have successfully completed the training and may earn 0.5 Continuing Education Units (CEUs).

If you have questions or concerns regarding suspicions of child abuse/neglect call the MO Children’s Division at 1-800-392-3738. Email containing child abuse/neglect questions or concerns will not be answered by the web-based training listed above.
