The Respiratory Health Association and the Illinois Department of Public Health put together this 32-page toolkit to provide participating schools or school districts with guidelines to implement Illinois’ stock albuterol policy (Public Act 100-0726), focusing on medication storage, training guidelines/requirements, symptom recognition and emergency response protocols. It also includes samples of a prescription request and various documentation forms, as well as resources for quick reference.
While not specific to Missouri, some school health nurses may find it a very helpful model for implementation of some of the strategies.
